The digital micoradiography laboratory is located in a dedicated room equipped with suitable radiological shields. The laboratory equipment comprises:
- Industrial microfocal X-raytube(Hamamatsu L8121-03) designed for continuous operation, with the possibility to set three sizes of focal spot (5/7 μm, 20 μm, 50 μm),maximum anode current of 500 μA and operating voltage range from 40 to 150 kV.
- A sensor in the form of an amorphic silicon matrix with an indirect conversion and structured scintillator -the PaxScan 4343R from Varian, with size of 43 x 43 cm and a pixel size of 139 x 139 capable of transferring the image to a computer work station with Ethernet network.
- In-house designed shutter with adjustable filters.
- Remotely controlled rotary table and linear actuator for positioning or rotation of the object under test.
- A set of standard phantoms and slotted aperture to evaluate the parameters of the imaging system (by Pro-Project).
The entire system is complemented by a computer station equipped with Viva imaging software and software for controlling individual components. It is also equipped with a standard radiographic high-resolution monochrome monitor.
